OK. Personally, I'm not bothered about criminality, dignity, risks to public safety and the reputation of EH. Damage to lichens certainly falls under the list of things that DO concern me, and if that's happening, I would agree that it should be acted upon. It is, however, something that could be addressed with effective education and stewarding, and I would not consider it a reason to prevent solstice access. If it was, it would also be a reason to fence off and restrict access to every other stone circle in the country.
