Re: Stonehenge Solstice: is there a risk?

Yes, this argument about the respect and dignity of the ancient stones at Stonehenge depends on one thing, actually. The stones are protected, now, by the government, through the English Heritage agency. One may argue as to whether they are over or under-protective, but it is a fine point. At the same time as these ancient stones are protected the ancient skills that built this, and other monuments, are shat on. Figure that out. Yes, drystone walling (as an example) is subsidised by DEFRA but at a pathetic actual rate of pay - say a pound an hour in the hills - without HSI or any pension rights, so it's virtually disappeared now. That's what you should be complaining about (INMNVHO).
