The style of the Cerne Abbas giant even looks 17th C... certainly doesn't look to have much in common with British Bronze Age/Iron Age art. Figurative depictions of humans are very rare in UK Bronze Age art and in the Iron Age, figures were mostly depicted holding swords or spears rather than clubs. 'Course, there's always an exception to the rule, but the Cerne Abbas Giant looks like a romantic pastiche.

I missed the prog again.... Dammit! And Aubrey Manning is such a nice man! He did some good progs on geology.
