Well I am naturally cynical to start with.
And I am playing devils advocate to the best archeo brains perhaps, but...
I just think that that layer of chalk may have been put there after any digging/construction/earth moving event.
Who's to say it came from the making of the man?
It may have been a landslide. Or come from somewhere else. They may have taken the spoils elsewhere too.
I just think it's presuming a lot.
Good theory, but full of holes.
My opinion...
