ive actually been to the Smithills sites and to be quite honest id give the stone row benefit of the doubt its deep in the middle of prehistoric territory.
people say well it doesnt look like any stone row ive ever seen (true) but then gain Lancashire has a lot of 'one offs' here a vitrified hillfort(very uncommon) the pikestones (a cotswold type chambered barrow) and bleasdale circle which is unique to name a few.
i find more and more frequently personal attacks are being launched on people. yes stonelifter is slightly eccentric and quite often goes on a tangent but he's entitled to an opinion nd shouldnt be ridiculed for it.
once again Rhiannon you talk pefect sense :)
