I first became aware of stone circles by watching the dodgy late 70's sci fi programme Quatermass with John Mills and was intrigued by "Ringstone Round" - the circle in the show. Watched with interest on the TV as a teenager all the peace convoy stuff in the mid 80's and got wondering about Stonehenge (didnt realise there was more).
Made it to my first stone circle -Castle Rigg (WOW!) in 1993 and finally to Stonehenge itself (major disappointment) in 1994.
