The virtual cache thing? Of course I have no problem with that. It's an oblique way of describing why most people - myself included - visit sacred sites. That's not what i was objecting to.

My problem is with those who claim (on this very thread) that a well-hidden plastic cache is not "litter".

And let me add that in my view, the landscape does not cease being sacred a few metres from a stone circle. Wandering around the landscape leaving little bits of plastic to mark your passage is something i have a real problem with and you'll not convince me otherwise.

If you want to structure your exploration of the landscape using "virtual geocaching" then that's not - as i say - objectionable. It seems a little odd to me, but i guess that's just cos i'm looking for different things when i visit a sacred place.
