"Definitely to boost hits." I'm an occasional visitor here who felt he should put finger to keyboard to correct some misaprehensions. Geocaching.com dosn't need hits the servers are creeking as it is.

"Incidentally, what's this about "within sight of a monument"? Why, for God's sake?" The idea is that it is a physical (or virtual) postcard saying "this is a great place". "within sight of a monument" means that you can see it from that position not that you can see it from the monument.
