Lunar allignments
Aug 28, 2012, 21:14
That's amazing stuff you're saying there about Thom sites and lunar allignments.

I'm of the utopian view that allignments should be tested on absolutely every available 'ritual' site on the planet, and discredited (or not!!); there's just so many sites with 'allignments' in every place.

Recent research on Almendres in Portugal found quite plausible allignments of some of the main stones and a stone portal, and the lunar equinox (full moon of spring). An unlikely but almost inevitable connection (pagan-->christian) was established with the current catholic easter practice, which is still informed by the last full moon of spring.

Is it possible that the lunar equinox in itself tends to be overlooked in some sites as researchers often only focus on the solstices.
