Sounds very like the old "diffusionist" ideas that V Gordon Childe and others were keen on. Is there any evidence for agriculturalists coming from the East, or was it simply ideas that travelled?

It's early days in ancient DNA studies and it's a fast moving subject but it looks like Childe was right . Everything points to a movement from the south east and Anatolia and northern Balkans displacing the foragers .
