Perhaps those of the Depository cast of mind could please compile a list here of what they consider are justifiable offerings to be left at ancient sites?

(Size/material/cumulative number/longevity would all be helpful)

1. Air (any amount)
2. Water (preferably not in a receptacle and not mixed with anything else)
3. That's it

I suggest that most ancient sites these days are within a few miles of a landfill/tip/recycling point, so perhaps the visit to the site could be combined with a visit to the sacred pile of rubbish provided by the Council. Any offerings can easily be left there without offence (remember to sort coloured glass though first).
