From HA's website:

"This counter is based upon published figures from academic studies, the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the comprehensive survey of finds rates recently carried out by detectorists and published on the premier UK discussion forum."

How can finds rates from todays detectorists and PAS be projected back 32 years?? PAS didnt exist and there are differing numbers of detectorists and finds over the years , even Mr Barford says there is half as many finds this year. The figures are flawed seriously. Its a shame just as archeology and the general public are actually trying to work as one for once that people have to try and upset the apple cart.
