Yep, with slight variations - no deep breathing, and everyone had to first press down on the victim's head, and the lifting was done using crossed fingers.
I remember being the "victim" at a party when I was about 8. OK, I wasn't very heavy, but I remember they tossed me up and I actually made contact with the high farmhouse ceiling.
