You might want to check out R.S Thorpe & O. Williams-Thorpe's 1991 paper
"The myth of long-distance megalithic transport" published in Antiquity 65
It's a long paper but here's one quote from the discussion.

" We are not aware of any megalithic monument that requires stone transport from a rock outcrop or a local glacial deposit from a distance exceeding c. 5km"
