I drag stones, of course. It's not worth attempting to start to explain how it's done - a picture is worth more than a thousand words. I moved (and arranged) an estimated 110 tonnes of stone last summer. I hope to double that this year.

As for erection of the stones originally - and I'm sure they were rearranged from time to time to tighten the alignments - I would favour a priestly elite of designers working for a petty chieftain with a mix of very low paid and enslaved workers. Pretty much how things are done now, really.
