I'm not sure about this one. How likely this is depends on where you are I suppose. In Cork, say, you only have to go to the next field to visit a circle, so I reckon it's unlikely there.

People do go for a long distance though to get water from a specific well that provides a specific cure. I think this probably happened in the long-distant past. I believe that sympathetic magic played a very large part in ancient society, so someone else visiting a site for you would have worked. Bringing back sacred water (oops, nearly said Holy Water then) for someone else would obviously help in some way.

Most (Catholic) houses in Northern Ireland still have water from Doon Well.
