Thanks for that book, the area up there is of interest to me lately, as well.

I dunno, I'm off topic a lot, but there is a folkore link on the stone pages, and after bouncing ideas around with folk here, being sounding boards for each other, I managed to write up some stuff for the folklore link for The Wells O' Wearie I hadnt gotten to grips with before, so I think its useful. So I'm thinking more too. Owner of last druid forum said its easy for a person to look like they think they are a know it all, so I picked a forum where I know very little and have to work hard, LOL.

ATU folklore classification systems can track stories back in migration paths to cultures that went historical earlier than us here, which can show a site to be more ancient. Also. For instance. Some Finn stories are clearly post historical viking age, and others refer to iron age customs, so that helps date some stories as being older than written history too.
