The problem with of these 'fringe' studies is that the ones who do it 'seriously' are the ones that don't get published. I know a few people who are looking into trackways at the moment and can't really repeat what they've told me as they are hoping to be published. Sorry, but I'm sure you understand.
There are quite a lot of Bronze/Iron Age chariot roads in Ireland. I believe one was featured in Rob Vance's "Secret Sights"
Has an age been placed on the old sheep drovers route from Harlech over the mountains. There's a good little book about it, but can't remember if a definite age was given.
