why did they have to have so much superstition?
And why group all the builders of ancient monuments together, as some amazing special group of people who "know" so much of the moon, sun and stars?.
I agree, the builders of some stone circles has an amzing knowlege of the movement of the stars and moon, but it doesn't mean they worshipped them. As Ken says (kind of!) we basically have no idea what the builders were doing or believed - just be grateful some people decided to build some fantastic megalithic structures, for some reason
