>English is much more poetic... than most languages...<
Excuse me? Which languages do you consider 'less' poetic than English?
Don't misunderstand me, I love the English language and can even recite a few lines of Old English. I once got into a debate with someone, however, who claimed there was no language like his own (Greek) for its 'poetic' tradition. I asked him to translate something by Kobayashi Issa into Greek - he was unable to do so (successfully) because the structure of Greek is completely different to the structure of Japanese.
In other words, and with respect, each language reflects the way its speakers perceive the world (poetically or otherwise) and the many varied languages spoken today are the product of that perception; in my humble opinion each should be seen to be the equal of the other and each valued as such.
