It's a spontaneously emergent property of sufficiently complex dynamic systems. That's what I was told. It's a neat idea, 'cos if it's true then other complex things, that aren't animals might be conscious too. Maybe even things not made mostly of carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen.

'Cos the universe wants to be able to look at itself. I reckon.

And weird shit happens, no doubt about that on this side of my retinas.
It's not talking bollocks dude, and anyway, talking bollocks is a noble calling :)
