Everyone lives in their own little reality though, don't they. Some people's realities are just stranger than others and some people notice things other people don't. <i>Some</i> people might have put the knocking down to the plumbing (I'm NOT saying it was!) - just because it would be less trouble to explain to themselves amongst all the other things they were thinking.

This morning on the train almost everyone else was asleep or had their noses in a paper or a book. I was looking out of the window at the world outside and saw a deer munching on something, looking up at the train from a field. I doubt many others saw it, but it was there all right. A matter of directing your attention in a particular direction.

(these things are connected in my mind with different views of reality, honest)
