The search for solid ground is futile, as you imply. It can't exist until you adopt it as YOUR solid ground and defend it against that which threatens it's solidity - a common and progressive curse of age.

There IS no solid ground, it's all too big and wonderful. Our proper role is to wonder and to be always in a state of wonder. Anything else is unscientific or blasphemous.
