I've got it! Offerings should be restricted to paper money, tenners and twenties. This has the advantage that it represents a real sacrifice (dropping a couple of pence on a church plate is almost sacrilege), and it's bio-degradable, or can be tidied up with minimum effort by those of us who feel the need. ;)
