Certianly, we're all basically talking around the same point. But I just thought there was great thoughtfulness in Littlestone's point that such behaviour was made by people who mean well, who are open and often party to the spiritual perspectives we hold in common, just behaving differently. That's very different to the mattress dumping you referred to (to make a fine point, mind) and general littering.

Whilst they have the same effect, dropping litter is disrespectful, offerings are not. As such, we should seek to avoid confrontational approaches to a solution.
