And there's the prob. You know something is happening, but as there's no frame of reference in current science, the world at large will say it must be tosh.

The only words that exist (in our language) to describe the phenomenological aspects of which you speak, seem have been hi-jacked by charlatans and rip-off merchants. And in the absence of words, how do you communicate a thing? It's not like it can be described in numbers. Like Paulus says, e.m. is a good pseudo-scientific bucket to put these ideas in. Though, no-one really seems to know what e.m. is, just part of what it does. But it's accepted as a scientific fact that it exists, so it's invocation has some ability to prevent instant dismissal of anomalous stuff.

But you know all this stuff, what I meant to say was:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=9842609&dopt=Abstract
Entoptics, psychedelics and e.m. but peer-reviewed, so proper science apparently.
