The economics and politics of agriculture in the EU and US ( not least the reasons for the subsidies that contribute to a fat-rich diet) are far too complex for rock n roller soundbitery. If he wants to make vegetarianism a grandiose moral issue rather than one of health, ecology and economics/class then he is on a hiding to nothing. His stuff on this issue is, in terms of tone and intellectual rigour, along the same lines as the statements that the far right come out with on immigration. Prejudiced and ignorant and removed from every day reality. And I say that as 22 year vegetarian.
