Given the accessibility of the site I'm surprised more people haven't listed this as their first experience

I still love it, and visit at least once a year while we are in the lakes.

We got engaged there - no matter how many other places I visit this one will always be special to me


It's a good point you make what with it been such a great place and so close to the road, you would think it would have been a lot more peoples first place, i like how you say it didn't have much impact on your parents but you never forgot it, i think this shows very well how these places [in general, there are always exceptions ] are in our consciousnesses in a different way to your parents, and this makes the places come alive in a way they haven't for 1000's of years.
