Indeed, wonderful cinemas and stylish hotels, dance halls and eating places. However, that seems more Keiller's world than Mr Rawlins, and that Keiller proposed the little museum at Stonehenge and as LS says certainly sanctioned the markers is suggestive. The style also promotes science though, and like Keiller John Rawlins was fascinated by what science could offer. He put the first lighting network in at Avebury, it fed his place and the pub.
We might have to settle for AK saying to JR when handing over the deeds to the plot, "nice Art Deco building would look great on there" and a quick sketch on the back of his fag packet...
