I have read the stuff about Gerald Hawkins and I have the following comments:

1. Throughout the text he refers to "hoaxers", not to Earth energies or aliens.

2. A knowledge of his theorems is not a pre-requisite for creating such crop circles. Many doodlers produce similar patterns with absolutely no idea that there is any maths involved. With the apparatus used by hoaxers, they are easy to produce.

3. The theorems are not dependent on crop circles. Their appearance as crops circles merely stimulated Hawkins to examine the geometry from a mathematical perspective.

4. I was already aware of his Theorem III. This is fairly well known amongst mathematicians.

5. I'm very surprised (amazed, in fact) to hear that these properties of polygons and circles have not previously been investigated. If that's true, then I congratulate Mr Hawkins on his originality.
