yeah but look at all the stuff that gets called 'punk' or R&B these days.

I do see rock as being a more than a couple of magazine titles. Anyway, even something like Classic Rock is as likely to feature bands like Motorhead, Magazine, Yes, Pentangle, extreme metal, old-school punk and so on, and regardless as to whether you like those bands, you can't say they are particularly alike, but they manage to co-exist under the 'rock' banner.

Anyway, Rock rocks!
