I agree, the accusation of crass commercialism made arelier is complete hogwash...if they wanted to 'suck the corporate tit' as said earlier they would've followed OK Computer with OK Computer 2 and not gone off into only-somewhat-successful-weirdo-electroville (least that's what mainstream fans probably thought of Kid A and the follow-ups). In fact, it was obvious to me they were purposefully trying to destroy their mainstream appeal...and it's obvious to anyone who doesn't just want to trash the fuck out of them for the sake of trashing the fuck out of them. In interviews for "Hail to the Thief", Thom was encouraging people to illegally download their records and not to purchase them. He said they had plenty of money and din't need the money from record sales. But of course that was probably just 'reverse-psychology' from a money-grubbing corporate whore, right? What a genius.....
