True enough, they do seem uncomfortably partial, but I was thinking of all the experimental archaeology that's gone on to establish whether human transportation is viable. That's been done on the basis that glaciation still could be the answer, not that it's a myth.

I found a quote from Wainwright about glaciation which makes it clear he isn't open minded - "The one tiny flaw in the theory is that there is absolutely no evidence for glaciation of Wiltshire" . That seems kind of familiar as an attitude that's been displayed here, but the other way round. Truth is, no-one yet knows, either could be correct and efforts to research either shouldn't be rubbished per se else there's a danger of myth-substitution!
