Gah! It was a noble effort, hopefully it shall be replicated one day. With enough neuro-babble thrown in to persuade the career academics that it's not just a load of New-agey twaddle.
Thing is Paulus, it could be said that PD was reaching too far ahead of the mainstream with that one. I suspect that if there had been some work done previously on the non-environmentally affected links between and ancient/modern neurology/perception, like the facial recognition template stuff, or the recumbent hill figure stuff, there would have been less scepticism about the DP.
Anyways, we know it was a valid experiment, from what I've garnered, the only real thing the academics had to throw at it in way of supportable criticism was the lack of a pilot study to get the methodology sorted. Which is why I'd like to think that the DP was a pilot study. The main effort remains to be be instigated.
