The paeleolithic cultures appear to have spread from UK into Ireland, because it was under ice for much longer than the UK. However, the earliest Neolithic structures in Ireland are older than anything in the UK.

Ireland also seems to have been inhabited by the stone age cultures from the north west first.

Odd innit ....
