Bridget (or Brigit) is the saint's name Brigid is the goddess :-)

Most of the bullauns are now associated with St. Brigit, who is one big mama here in Ireland. It has to be assumed that they were former Brigid sites and so a fertility cult must too be linked. Bullauns are found all over Ireland (even in the midlands where tombs are at a minimum) and so it also follows that either it was a very large scale cult or someone did a hell of a lot of travelling :-)
