Maybe possible but doesn't necessarily mean it's so. Rock art was probably in use for many generations. It's not unreasonable to say they could have been used for over a thousand years. There are churches around that have been in use for nearly that long. So what we see now, isn't necessarily how the marks appeared to their originator. I suspect that some of the more complicated art panels were added to over a long period of time. So it's possible the large cupmarks were worn down over a long period of use... epsecially if they are said to be well smoothed. The foot and heart/whatever marks being added to the rock at a much later date, signifying some continuity of use between succesive cultures.

If the rock also bears human footprints, then maybe its a cattle hoof??
