I agree. That's why I discount magnetism alone. It has something to do with an external pull from water to rod working with the dowser's body/mind. That's as far as I can get. Water and hazel rod don't attract violently on their own. The dowser cannot do anything without a rod, pendulum or hazel twig. The answer lies in the combination of sought substance, rod and elecrical (or other energy) within and part of the dowsers mind/body. Perhaps Mr McSherry wasn't too far off in the first place with his talk of energies!
