That is how I see it, but it gets us no nearer understanding how the dowser detects anything. If it is the dowser then it is so easy to get into psychic stuff, precognition and sub-conscious awareness. If it is physics, then applying labels like magnetism and sonics doesn't get me any closer to an understanding either. When I used the rods (which were made from coat hangers and held loosely in cardboard tubes) they swung inwards positively and smoothly - not unlike turning on an electro-magnet and attracting an iron bar. I have tried to dowse a map and failed everytime... I've tried stuff with a pendulum and got 50% correct which is useless. I have found all the debate so far fascinating, but I am still in the dark and if you're strictly honest, so are the rest of you.
