I love their version on the live bootleg with Bruce Smith on drums and Steve Beresford on keys BUT they couldn't have written anything like that themselves I don't think. Which is where I am coming from. Skill gives you more choices. The problem is that skill can also stop you from having happy accidents. For one album lack of ability is probably preferable. To make a body of work you aren't going to get lucky often enough. It's the difference between winning £1000 once in a while on a Tricast and making a living as a professional gambler.
