Hmmm - you'd probably have heard more separation and clarity if you had worn ear-plugs, you know. I was wearing wax ones that cut out anything under 22db, and the mix sounded virtually perfect to me, except for the few occasions I took them out and heard what wa spretty much "Metal Machine Music" with a backbeat. And from what I remember, you could never hear Kevin Shields' voice live, even in the late 80s.

Your description of Le Volume Courbe does make me quite intrigued to check them out, however.
