To be fair to Iron Maiden, yes it seems they do a lot of crowd pleasers in their sets, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that their recent global jaunts have seem them go to places in India and South America, amongst other places, that haven't seen them at all, so I can see why they'd want to do a fan-centric set with the production that would demand. And, watching the Flight 666 documentary, just watching the reaction of these fans that never get to see such things normally was really unexpectedly moving, to me at least.

And, when they released their album "A Matter of Life & Death" a few years back, when they toured it, they played the then new album in order, in entirety and then did a few classics during the last third of the show, so they did at least tinker with the formula then. It was bloody good too!
