I like Muse for the reasons outlined by others here though I've not heard the new album as yet. I did like the stuff on "Later".
I was never taken with "Showbiz", their debut, so resolutely in hock to Radiohead as it is. Not a bad album but kinda obviously generic.

I do have a soft spot for "Origins of Symmetry" and it's upping of the cranked riff and heavy histrionics quota. I think Matt Bellamy's lyrics have been informed by one too many conspiracy theory books, but they kinda suit the occasional outbursts of pleasingly ludicrous bombast.

I can't ever see them being an all-time fave band in my pod, but they entertain me well enough and they do rock live n' all.
