I got my Reiki attunements for free. A lot of enlightened teachers are now doing this righteous work aginst the 'heirarchy'. I made a small voluntary donation. There's a vast scam with Reiki charges, false gurus etc. All spiritual knowledge and healing should be free. It is from nature and for us all. Beware the limo driving Swami! They prey on the lost, desperate and vulnerable. A reasonable payment so that so one can make a living, or a donation is fine.

If you swim in these waters, it's a bit like Wart in The Once and Future King when he becomes a fish - learn fast and keep your wits about you. There are many frauds and dangers. I've been studying/pursuing this path one way or the other for over twenty years, and if asked, I like to think that I've been able to steer people just starting out in a safe and positive direction.
