You're doing it again. "They" are not the enemy. And "they" probably have no idea that anyone objects to their actions.

Years ago, when I was a naive youngster, it would never have crossed my mind that the leaving of offerings might be considered objectionable. It simply wouldn't have occurred to me. I'd have assumed it was harmless. I was ignorant, and hadn't been exposed to other ways of thinking. I wasn't an idiot, I wasn't contemptuous, and I wasn't a litter-bug. I was young and unaware of the issues. If someone had taken the time to explain it to me, I might have seen it differently.

Of course, I was just a passive observer, viewing the offerings of others and thinking they were kinda nice. So please don't take a contract out on me - I never actually left anything anyhwere! ;)
