That illustrates you have completely missed my point if I may say so.
Of course my very presence impacts negatively on others present at the time I'm there. That's implicit and unavoidable due to the fact the place is shared.

But I should restrict my impact to the time I'm there, not leave something that extends it. That would be selfish and unfair, surely? Place the offering, the goddess will notice. Then pick it up and take it home. What's the actual POINT of going home without it?
