Can't expand on my factoid I'm afraid. Factoids are like that, fundamental particles of knowledge ;)

Of course, even if August was established, that only proves August, not intention or symbolism. Maybe it was a convenient post-harvest period for work, or an intra-harvest exercise - cutting the hay then cutting the turves that were left, or maybe.... etc etc
