Re: Hole profiles
Sep 14, 2003, 08:21
Difficult isn't it. I can’t say for sure if there’s anything we ought to know but I just can't imagine how there could be any killer evidence against us. 55/56 are unique in size so evidence from anything else wouldn’t be conclusive. And there seems to have been precious little evidence left of 55 so what else can we do but choose a method, make sure it fits to the 56 profile, and be open about the fact we know there are other methods that fit?

I guess the best we could do is try to find a real expert and simply follow his advice about what is the least controversial assumption.

Unless…
We could do 55 one of our ways, and 56 the other….

(Runs for cover to watch reaction)

If we could, wouldn’t it makes us authoritative! Who could sneer at people that had no preconceived opinion but were open-mindedly testing two possible theories? The debate wouldn’t be “Are they right” but “In which way are they right?” And at the end the archaeologists could sit at Gordon’s feet whilst he told them, from his direct experience, which was the most practicable method!
