EGD , the comment β€œ...the bath themselves were dedicated to Minerva , a healing deity .” does not include or entail that they were dedicated to her in that role. If you or anyone else reads that into it , you are mistaken , semantically and logically . Roman temples are dedicated to particular gods and their role is not specified e.g. when a temple is dedicated to Jupiter there is no mention that it is Jupiter in the role of defender of boundaries as opposed to his more usual role ,therefore there is no question of β€œin that role β€œ even being applicable in the first place , it wouldn't even be a consideration .
The healing was added as additional info because it is a less well known attribute but is obviously relevant to the healing aspect of the site .
