See to me you're near to some truth there, a link between underground water and some rock art, I believe you was making a link what with you finding rock art by knowing the sort of place to look, wouldn't it be funny if the places were linked by springs and underground streams or the remains of old ones, a hell of a lot of rock art near Appletreewick in Yorkshire seems to correspond with the main caves at stump cross caverns below them and countless rock art panels have a spring very close by, it's just a thought, maybe their "underworld" was a bit more real than we think.
